A meeting of the Committee on Estimates of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held here today to review the functioning of Power Development Department.Threadbare discussions were held on overall working of the department including reviewing the status of implementation on various schemes and projects.The members of the Committee also raised various concerns pertaining to their constituencies .MLA Doda Shakti Raj Parihar raising the various issues related to Doda demanded immediate start of work on 850 MW Rattle power Project Drabshallah without further delay and also raised the issue of early completion of lower Kalnia project Thatri .MLA Doda also demanded early completion of work on 132 KV Ramban Khallani transmission line which according to legislature is going on with snail pace and said in Doda area still there are many hamlets without power supply till now said previous Ministers had not bothered to solve the problem.He said many years gone but but work on receiving station of Goha Marmat of Doda constituency is not completed which needed immediate attention of the government and HT/LT network to be strengthen .He also informed that in Doda there is shortage of technical staff due to which engineers are not in a position to come up to the expectation of the people . Threadbare discussions were held on overall working of the department including reviewing the status of implementation on various schemes and projects.The Committee directed the concerned authorities to undertake immediate steps to streamline the functioning of the PDD department in Doda besides maintaining speeding of all ongoing works of various projects before the winter commences . Further, the Committee directed for immediate steps to be taken to rationalize staff and transfer policy of the department.Secretary PDD department briefed the Committee about the overall functioning of the department, besides physical and financial achievement of the department, and projects and schemes being carried out by the department.
